Second Class Rank

Second Class is the second rank on the path to Eagle, earned after Tenderfoot. At this stage, Scouts deepen their skills, take on more responsibility, and become more confident in outdoor and leadership tasks.

🔹 Key Focus Areas of Second Class:

🔸 Outdoor Skills

• More advanced camping and cooking techniques

• Use of map and compass for navigation

• Understanding weather safety and fire-building skills
  
  

🔸 First Aid & Safety

• Basic first aid for common injuries (burns, bites, hypothermia, etc.)

• Safe hiking practices

• Emergency procedures
  
  

🔸 Aquatics

• Demonstrate swimming and water safety skills (Swim test required)
  
  

🔸 Citizenship & Service

• Participate in service projects

• Learn about your local government and community roles

• Discuss rights and responsibilities as a U.S. citizen
  
  

🔸 Leadership & Scout Spirit

• Live the Scout Oath and Law daily

• Demonstrate respect, responsibility, and teamwork

• Work with patrol leaders and participate actively in troop activities
